Wood floors

White oak in wide plank, laid straight, is the floor we have photographed. Build the rest below and turn it — a sample the size of a postcard tells you almost nothing about what a floor does to a room.

Configurator ◆ Every choice

Build your floor

A room about seventeen feet by fourteen, so the boards are at the scale they would be in your own. Change any part and the whole floor relays. Drag it to turn all the way round — sheen only shows itself when the light moves across the floor.

These are options to settle, not a stock list. The floor we have photographed is white oak in wide plank, laid straight; the rest is here so you can see what a width or a pattern actually does to a room before you raise it on the call. Screens shift color too, and oak in particular takes stain differently on every board that comes off the truck — so treat this as a way to settle the combination, not as a color match. We bring samples to the estimate so you can lay them on your own subfloor, in your own light, next to your own trim.
